Meal planning is essential for supporting health at every stage of life. By focusing on specific nutritional needs for each age group, you can optimize your meals to keep your body strong and energized.
For children and teens

Growing bodies need balanced nutrients to support development, immunity, and energy. Meal planning for kids and teens should focus on these essentials:
- Include protein at every meal. Protein fuels growth and keeps energy steady. We recommend including lean meats, beans, eggs, dairy, or plant-based proteins in each meal.
- Focus on calcium and vitamin D. Strong bones need both. Aim for calcium from dairy products, fortified plant milks, or leafy greens, and encourage outdoor play for natural vitamin D from sunlight.
- Limit sugary snacks and beverages. Processed sugars add little nutrition and can affect mood and focus. We suggest replacing sugary drinks with water and offering fruits as snacks.
- Add healthy fats. Omega-3s are excellent for brain health. Try including a source of healthy fats, like nuts, seeds, or olive oil, in daily meals.
